A 47-meter-long octopus, giant wind turbines, superheroes like Batman and Logan, UFOs, Chinese centipedes, and even David Bowie: Around 80 professional kite flyers from across Europe are launching their massive kites into the sky. Visitors can bring their own kites. The event is organized by the city housing company, expecting about 1500 colorful kites throughout the day. If all strings were tied together, they would span over twelve kilometers, the distance from the TV Tower to Tempelhofer Feld and back. The program includes many demonstrations with single and dual-line kites, live music, stage shows, and interactive activities. Numerous stands offer snacks and drinks. The festival area is 200,000 square meters, located on the west side of Tempelhofer Feld, near Paradestraße U-Bahn station, also accessible from Tempelhof S-Bahn station. Public transport is recommended due to limited parking.
